Who sings in
Austin Girls' Choir?

Our choristers come from all over Austin and from surrounding communities. Girls age 8-14 with little music background audition for our Junior Choir; experienced singers age 13-18 who read music well audition for our Senior Ensemble. Austin Girls' Choir choristers share a strong love for music and music-making, and enjoy the opportunity to learn challenging music with a top-level choir.

The three-level Junior Choir consists of girls aged 8 to 14, and the Senior Ensemble is for advanced singers aged 13 to 18. Dual Chorister status is granted to top Junior Choristers; these girls rehearse and perform with both choirs. As girls develop basic ear training, vocal and theory skills, they may audition to move up to a new group level. Incoming girls commit to one full year of membership.

The Austin Girls' Choir runs year-round, with auditions in January, May, and August. Girls' parents may contact: Artistic Director Sara Burden-McClure at (512) 453-0884 to schedule an audition. A $25 check must be received at P.O. Box 4026, Austin, TX 78765 to hold an audition date.
