Austin Girls’ Choir celebrates its 15th anniversary this month! Founded in 1990 by Artistic Director Sara Burden-McClure, the Choir has served hundreds of girls age 8-18 from Austin and surrounding communities, teaching them to sing a wide range of styles in three- and four-part harmony. Many girls enter as beginners, and rapidly learn music-reading and vocal production skills. Former choristers have gone on to perform on Broadway, sing opera, front rock bands and direct their own choirs!

Widely known as one of North America’s top treble choirs, Austin Girls’ Choir makes annual concert tours throughout the United States and Europe, and has been broadcast on CNN, C-SPAN and BBC Radio. The Tour Choir has just returned from this summer’s tour of English and French cathedrals.

AGC’s next performances will be September 10 and 11 at 7 p.m., as the girls present “An Enchanted Evening: Stars (and Stripes) Above.” The first performance will be at the Episcopal Seminary at 32nd and Duval; the second will be at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 3208 Exposition Boulevard. $5 donation suggested at the door. Concertgoers can help celebrate the anniversary at an ice cream social after the second show. Please call 453-0884 for more information
