Junior Choir

Resident Choristers (beginners) practice 6:15 - 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Middler Choristers come at 6:15 and stay till 8:15 Tuesdays, 6:45 - 8:15 Thursdays.
Concert Choristers rehearse 6:45 - 8:15 Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Rehearsal location is the choir room of Highland Park Baptist Church, 5206 Balcones Drive.

Junior choristers range in age from 8 to 14. They must graduate at the end of the trimester in which they turn 15. At age 13, they may audition to move to the Senior Choir. Those Juniors age 12 and up who demonstrate exemplary music skills and mature behavior may, at the discretion of the Artistic Director, be invited to enjoy the benefits of Dual Membership in the Junior and Senior Choirs.

The Junior Choir enjoys day trips and one or two overnight trips per year. Selected choristers are eligible for June tour. Most concerts will be in the Austin area.

Guests may attend rehearsal only if their presence has been cleared in advance with the Director. Anyone visiting rehearsal, regardless of age, is expected to sit quietly and avoid any behavior that might distract the choristers or director. If visitors are unable to do so, they must leave. No photos.
