Performance Policies
- Our girls do not wear makeup in performance. Masking a blemish is OK, but ruby-red lipstick, blusher, eye shadow and mascara are not! No perfume, either.
- Girls with long hair should tie or pin it back for concerts; this keeps hands out of hair, hair out of eyes, and prevents "flipping" of hair during bows!
- Upon arrival at a pre-concert rehearsal, each chorister must be dressed in her complete uniform and be finished with any hair needs. If she must receive various items of clothing at that rehearsal, she must come early (so she doesn't miss any rehearsal time).
- Performances are not optional! The team expects each member to be there doing her part. Dates are published as soon as we have them, to aid parents in planning schedules, arranging carpools, etc. If you realize that you have an unavoidable conflict at that time, say so then last-minute backouts are tremendously hard on the other singers and also negatively affect the prepared material. We try for 6 weeks' advance notice. Should a performance opportunity arise close to the requested date, the phone chain is activated so that we can make a decision and any necessary commitments within 24 hours of the request. In these cases, we need to know right away if girls can or cannot sing. It is not professional for us to leave potential concert hosts in limbo, and even worse to commit to a performance and then be unable to honor that commitment.
- Concert folders are turned in to the music librarian immediately after performances.
